I obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and qualified as Veterinarian, from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (Nigeria) in 2006, Master of Veterinary Surgery (MVS) degree, from the same University in 2012 and PhD degree in Surgery, from the Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2016. I joined the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 2008 as a Lecturer and rose to the rank of full professor in January 2022. I joined A’Sharqiyah University as an Assistant Professor in February 2023.

I have extensive academic and administrative experience. I have 15 years of teaching experience both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. While in Malaysia, I served as graduate research assistant, saddled with the responsibility of teaching undergraduate students, research and veterinary clinical services to the community. I was a visiting scholar to the department of veterinary surgery at the University of Abuja in Nigeria. I was also on sabbatical leave for one year at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

I have more than fifty published articles in internationally refereed journals and conference proceedings. I am a member of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Member Science Association of Nigeria, and Member, International Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERMIS). I am editorial board member of Sokoto Journal of Veterinary Sciences and reviewer to many journals among these are; Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Journal of Veterinary Medical Science, BioMed Research International, Advances in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Asian Journal of Research in Animal and Veterinary Sciences among others.
